Stepping across the threshold into the Bay of the Seven Moons is entering a world apart from the high energy bustle of Avalon. Fragrant sandalwood, jasmine and bergamot awaken your senses. Towers filled with sparkling jewelry sit amidst carved wooden mermaids, dragons, and Buddhas that beckon like old friends.
Customers are encouraged to browse in a pressure-free environment that has delighted visitors for almost 30 years.
You enter a comfortable space that houses artifacts and handmade jewelry that spans the globe. Our collection includes pieces created by Indonesian and Native American artists as well as the exclusive designs of owner, Autumn Reifensnyder.
Autumn travels to Asia and Indonesia to obtain handicrafts for her store. Cultural and ecological impacts are taken into account in the areas where these treasures are found. She goes to rural villages and walks from house to house to see what families have made and then buys directly from the artists. This allows the people to continue to live on their ancestral land as opposed to migrating to the cities to seek employment in factories.
Autumn lives and works on Catalina Island. Her attention to detail was developed by learning to cut and polish gemstones. She is always looking for unusual and affordable materials to create new designs. Some of her personal favorites are Mexican opals and fossilized dinosaur bone. She is an avid hiker and shares her home with three of the happiest animals on earth. Come for a visit and leave as a friend.
