Sterling silver and abalone.

A dolphin leaps out of the abalone waters to take a look at what’s going on topside. It hangs from a loop that lets it move within the circle and has a tiny cubic zirconium eye.

The pendant is one and a half inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick. The bail opening is 3/16 inch. Total pendant length is two inches.

Details

Abalone is a natural multi colored mother of pearl that is the shell of a marine mollusk. It was important to the indigenous people of Catalina Island as a food source, and for tools, ornaments and trade. The dolphin is a symbol of playfulness, cooperation, and returning to a natural healthy rhythm.
